My Journey as a media Artist and Educator

My career began in my teens as a recording artist for Mercury Records, performing with such artists as The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, The Four Seasons and more.  After studying Radio & Television at Ohio University, I worked in production at television stations and theatres in Athens and Cincinnati, Ohio.

I relocated to New York as a stage manager in live theatre and eventually worked Grey Advertising in the Radio/Television Department. My next venture was the creation of Songshop Recording Company, a 24 track recording facility, working with a variety of new wave/ punk/ rock and jazz groups, including the New York Dolls, Bad Brains, The Misfits, Ian Hunter, Stanley Jordan, and more.  Clients also included national commercials and jingles, film scores, and classical music ensembles.  The Dance market emerged and I began mixing and recording projects for artists such as Robin Gibb, Shannon, Markey Mark, Sister Sledge, Tina Turner and Sheila E. In the process I earned two Gold Records for recordings with Shannon and Stanley Jordan. Eventually I moved to Los Angeles and Phoenix as a freelance Audio and Video Producer working on television shows, film, sound design and music composition.

My video work centered on  producing and directing Public Service Announcements for non-profit organizations such as Boys Town, Save the Children, The Salvation Army, The Humane Society, The Will Rogers Institute, as well as corporate video productions for companies ranging from Goldman Sachs to, Sonic Images Records.  Recent production included two trips to India for Good News India and its child rescue centers. Other projects included reconstructing sfx/dialogue/ and music for Jay Wards “Rocky & Bulwinkle/Fractured Fairytales/ and 13 episodes of a children’s show called Storybarn with two NBC specials. I also acted as Producer with Doug Wyles Productions generating 96 episodes of Quiet Triumphs for the Hallmark Channel.
